About the Internship
Proximity Media (Judas and the Black Messiah, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Creed 3) seeks motivated, ambitious interns who are interested in becoming producers, writer-producers, and/or executives. This position is ideal for someone who wants to learn more about producing, writing, and the filmmaking process as a whole. Duties will include script and book coverage, notetaking, research, watching films, discussing projects with Proximity execs and assistants, organizing files, and other miscellaneous tasks. Proximity will treat its interns as part of the team. Throughout the Spring, interns will prepare a pitch for a feature film to deliver to the Proximity team at the end of the semester.
The internship will also have an educational component including zoom lunches with Proximity executives and other industry professionals.
Interest in producing is strongly recommended. Interest in writing is recommended. Applicants must enjoy reading and analyzing projects.
The internship will begin in early January depending on intern availability. In accordance with state guidelines and safety protocols, all work will be remote until it is safe to return to offices.
The position is paid and fully remote.
Ideal candidates will be available 9am-6pm PT 2-3 days per week.

Additionally, for aspiring writer-producers, a sample of your screenwriting is encouraged but not required. If you choose to submit a sample, it should be no more than three pages. It can be a short, a scene, and/or a three-page excerpt of a longer screenplay and/or pilot. Feel free to give a few lines of context on the first page.
