Voces Oral History Center, leading archive and production center about the Latino experience in the U.S based at the University of Texas at Austin Moody College of Communications is looking for RTF and/or Journalism students interested in an internship as Assistant Editor to work on Voces audiovisual content under the supervision of Voces Digital Archivist and Videographer. This position is ideal for students interested in documentaries and archives.
This internship is for Summer 2022 starting immediately, 19 hours per week $15 per hour.
Job duties
Assists the Videographer and Digital Archivist in the editing of Voces productions such as short documentaries, oral history interviews, promotional videos, social media content, podcasts and other formats.
Assists the Videographer and Digital Archivist in editing and processing incoming audiovisual materials for archiving and preservation.
Assists the Videographer and Digital Archivist in the digitization and categorization of incoming and outgoing materials for processing, archiving and preservation.
Assist the Videographer and Digital Archivist in other duties as assigned pertaining to the AV department and archive.
Assist on Voces events, productions and other necessary activities.
Candidate profile
Experience in audio and video editing using adobe software is necessary.
Bilingual Spanish/English is highly preferred but not required.
Interest in vintage formats and digitization is preferred but not required.
Experience operating audio and video equipment is preferred but not required.
